AI Video Prompt Collector: Save the Shot Before the Tab Closes

The DramaSo Chrome extension captures AI video and image prompts from X and YouTube without leaving the page. Hover to save, open the in-page shelf, then send the shot into DramaSo Studio. Listed on the Chrome Web Store as of 9 September 2026.

Default this when the prompt is already on the page and you are about to close the tab.

The collector is a capture tool, not a generator and not the episode desk. If the beat is sitting in an X post or under a YouTube player, save it here. If you still need to invent the prompt, use a generator page. If you already have a script, skip this and open AI Drama Generator.

Features

Capture the prompt in the moment it appears

A usable AI video prompt is a contract for one shot: camera, subject, room, light. It lives in a tweet, a comment, or a YouTube description — and it disappears the moment you close the tab. The collector is the bookmark for that contract.

Hover-save on X

On x.com, hover a post and the save badge appears on the tweet. The capture keeps the post text, images and ALT — richer than a single screenshot.

YouTube frame, not a polluted canvas

Video frames on YouTube cannot be copied with canvas.drawImage. The extension captures the visible tab and crops the player rectangle, then stores a small JPEG thumbnail.

Right-click selected text

Highlight a prompt anywhere in the page, right-click, collect. JSON blocks, fenced code and mixed prose are parsed into shot / subject / scene fields when the text allows it.

A shelf on the page, not a Chrome side panel

The library has to stay with the tab you are reading. A Chrome side panel API is not used: some Chromium forks never show it. The shelf is a content-script overlay in shadow DOM. Alt+Shift+D toggles it on any page.

In-page shelf — Alt+Shift+D

Open the shelf without leaving the tweet or the player. Search, scan recent captures, keep collecting.

Library in Options, recent in the popup

The toolbar popup shows what you just saved. The Options page is the full library — search, tags, and the starter pack that ships with a first install.

Local first, optional DramaSo login

Captures live in chrome.storage.local (unlimitedStorage). Signing in to drama.so is optional: it is how a capture prefills Studio, not a requirement to collect.

Collect, then create — the prompt is not the episode

A saved prompt is one beat. The script, the board and the stacked episode still happen on DramaSo. The extension's job is to stop the beat from vanishing before you get there.

Prefill DramaSo Studio

Send a capture into the Studio idea tab. The prompt arrives as the starting beat; you still write the rest of the episode.

Not a generator

This page does not write prompts. For a scene that still needs a visual pack, use the Script Visual Prompt Generator. For a full vertical episode, start at AI Drama Generator.

No model-name shopping list

The Chrome listing describes capture and create. It does not stack vendor model names in the title. Collect the prompt; pick the model later in Studio.

From a tweet or a player to a Studio beat, three steps

Install once. After that, capture stays on the page you are already reading.

  1. 1

Add the extension from the Chrome Web Store

Open the DramaSo listing, click Add to Chrome, pin the toolbar icon. Chrome's own install help is linked in the FAQ. No DramaSo account is required to collect.

  2. 2

    Hover-save, or right-click the prompt

On X, hover the post. On YouTube, capture the visible frame. Anywhere, select the prompt text and right-click to collect. JSON, fenced blocks and mixed prose are parsed when the text allows it.

  3. 3

Open the shelf, send to Studio

Alt+Shift+D toggles the in-page shelf. Send the capture to DramaSo Studio (idea tab). Stack the rest of the episode there — this extension does not generate the series.

When the collector is the right next click

Three jobs this page is for. If none match, you want a generator or the drama desk, not an extension.

A prompt you will not find again

The shot is in someone else's post. Closing the tab is how it dies. Hover-save keeps the text, the image and the ALT with the source URL.

A YouTube beat you want as a still

Pause on the frame that should become shot one. The extension crops the player from a tab capture because the video element itself is not copyable.

A library you can search before you generate

Parsed fields (shot, subject, scene) are how you find last week's hallway prompt without scrolling a notes app. Then Studio, not another search.

Three DramaSo pages, three jobs

Collect here. Write a visual pack on the generator. Shoot the episode on the drama desk. Do not ask one page to do all three.

AI video prompt collector, answered

What is an AI video prompt?

An AI video prompt is a written contract for one generated shot: who is in frame, where they stand, how the camera moves, and what the light is doing. Empty adjectives like cinematic do not lock a shot; camera, subject, scene and a negative line do.

What is a prompt collector?

A prompt collector is a local library that saves prompts from the page you are browsing — a social post, a video description, or selected text — so the shot can be reused later. It is a bookmark for generation contracts, not a generator itself.

What is an in-page shelf versus a Chrome side panel?

A Chrome side panel is a browser chrome surface opened through the sidePanel API. An in-page shelf is a content-script overlay drawn on the page itself, usually inside shadow DOM, so it stays with the tab even when the host browser does not implement a side panel.

Install path and capture surfaces match the Chrome Web Store listing and the in-extension About page as of 9 September 2026. Overlay vs side panel is the extension's declared architecture, not a Chrome marketing claim.
