Captions is the mobile-first play: a selfie becomes a talking AI actor, and an "AI Edit" pass cuts, styles and captions the footage the way an editor would. Having folded in Mirage Studio's avatar work, it covers generation and finishing in one app. For short drama we mostly see it on the promo side — vertical trailers, UGC-style ads and creator-led recaps, shipped fast.

The tradeoff is depth versus speed. HeyGen gives you a more controllable avatar studio and a heavier translation pipeline; Argil leans harder into personal clones for talking-head formats. Captions wins when the deliverable is a polished vertical clip today, with captions in 100+ languages on top. We would not build a multi-episode cast inside it — that is not its shape.
