Vidu's whole identity is reference-to-video: feed it up to seven images and it holds people, props and scenes consistent, with a My References library for saving a recurring cast. That is the short drama problem, stated as a product. Our read: for serialized vertical stories where the same lead must survive fifty episodes of cuts, this is the most direct attack on character drift we've seen in the category.

The tradeoff against Kling or Runway is cinematic ceiling: the site sells consistency, speed and an unlimited off-peak free mode more than it sells motion craft, and anime-to-video is a first-class citizen — telling for comic-adaptation dramas.
