Toonflow is one of the few projects here built literally for our keyword: an Electron desktop app that turns novels and scripts into animated short dramas through script rewriting, storyboarding, asset generation and video production on an infinite canvas. Our read: for solo creators and small studios doing animated micro drama, this is the most complete purpose-built open option we have seen in this list.

It is bring-your-own-everything: LLM keys across OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, Qwen and more, plus Sora or ByteDance models for video — and the README's own demo pegs a 2-minute output at roughly 130 RMB in API costs, so free software is not free production.
